Privacy Policy

Version 1.0 — Effective September 17, 2026.

This policy describes personal information handled through itsveterans.com. Its Veterans is a service of Thirstier, a DBA of Immix Tachyon Synergy Network LLC. We are an independent publication, not the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

1. Contact us about privacy

Use our Contact page and put “Privacy request” in the subject. The form delivers messages to our monitored inbox. You may also write to Immix Tachyon Synergy Network LLC, Attn: Its Veterans Privacy, 1004 Commercial Ave, #2088, Anacortes, WA 98221-4183, United States. Please provide enough information to locate your request without sending sensitive records.

2. Information you provide

Contact messages. Our form requires your email address and message. First name, last name and subject are optional. It does not accept file attachments. Messages are stored in our WordPress contact-form records and sent to our designated email inbox so we can read and respond to them. Form records also include the submission time, IP address, source page, browser/device information and, when applicable, the signed-in user associated with the submission.

Comments. Where comments are open, WordPress collects the fields shown in the comment form, including a name, email address, comment and any optional website address, together with IP address and browser information for administration and spam detection. Approved comments, display names, linked websites and avatars may be public. The email field is not ordinarily displayed with the comment. Anything placed in the comment text may be visible to other people and copied or indexed.

Administrative accounts. For people with authorized website accounts, WordPress stores account and profile information and uses authentication and preference cookies. Administrators can access information needed to manage the site. This policy does not invite visitors to create an account or establish a paid membership.

3. Technical information and purposes

Requests to the website disclose technical information to hosting and operational systems, such as an IP address, requested page, request time, browser information, referring page and error details. Search words can appear in URLs and logs. We use operational information to serve pages, troubleshoot, detect abuse, protect the website and handle requests. Do not enter claim numbers or private medical details into site search.

The website runs on WordPress and IONOS hosting. Fluent Forms handles contact submissions and uses built-in honeypot and token checks against automated submissions. These checks do not guarantee that every unwanted submission will be blocked.

4. Cookies, Gravatar and outside content

WordPress uses cookies for authorized login sessions and preferences. A commenter can choose to have the browser remember comment-form details. You can decline that option and use browser controls to clear or restrict cookies. Restricting cookies can affect login or other requested features.

Comment avatars use Gravatar, operated by Automattic. An email-derived identifier may be used to find an avatar, and loading an avatar sends a request and technical information to that provider. See Automattic’s Privacy Policy.

Links to VA.gov and other websites take you to independently operated services when followed. Where an article includes remotely hosted images, video or other embedded material, loading that material can contact the provider before you click it; that provider may use cookies or other identifiers under its own policies. This policy does not govern those outside services.

The installed Connect Matomo plugin was not connected to a Matomo service when this version was prepared. Installing a plugin alone does not mean analytics is operating. A material change to analytics, advertising tracking, newsletters or paid features requires an updated description of the practice and any notices or choices required by law.

5. Who may receive information

Authorized site personnel and providers handling hosting, email, storage, security and website operations may process information needed for those functions. Contact messages are delivered to the operator-designated inbox; public comments are shared through publication. Gravatar and any outside content you load receive the information described above. We may disclose information when required by lawful process or when reasonably necessary to address fraud, abuse, security incidents or legal rights, subject to applicable law.

The operator is based in the United States. Providers may process information in other locations. Visiting the website does not waive privacy rights or, by itself, constitute consent to an international transfer that requires a separate legal basis.

6. Health and disability information

Our guides discuss Veterans benefits, but our contact form and comments are not a VA claims system, medical-record portal or emergency service. Please do not send Social Security numbers, VA claim numbers, passwords, medical records or details about another person’s health. Send claim records only through appropriate official or professional channels.

Unsolicited messages can still contain sensitive information, and health-related page or search information can be sensitive when associated with a person. If you sent sensitive information by mistake, contact us to request its removal. We do not claim that this website is HIPAA compliant. Any applicable protections for consumer health data continue to apply; this general policy does not replace a separate notice or consent required by law.

7. Retention and security

Retention depends on the record and its purpose, including handling an inquiry, maintaining published comments, preventing abuse, resolving disputes and meeting legal obligations. A reply does not automatically remove a message from the website database or email inbox. Comments and associated records may remain while the discussion is maintained. Copies can also exist in backups or operational logs.

You may request deletion using the contact method above. We assess the request and applicable exceptions, including records we must retain for legal or security reasons. Removal from an active system does not necessarily remove every backup copy immediately or remove copies independently made by other people. We do not promise a fixed automatic deletion period. No website or email system can guarantee absolute security; share only information needed for your request.

8. Your choices and requests

You can ask about information we hold about you or request access, correction or deletion. Depending on applicable law, you may also have rights to a copy of your information, restriction or objection to processing, withdrawal of consent, or an appeal of a decision. Tell us the right you want to exercise and the email address or comment details that will help locate the record. We will assess and respond under applicable law.

We may request proportionate identity verification to protect the information. Do not send identity documents unless a necessary, secure process has been arranged. If you disagree with our response, reply with “Privacy appeal” and explain the concern. This does not limit any right to contact a privacy regulator or the Washington Attorney General. We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.

9. Children

The publication is intended for adult Veterans and adults helping them. It is not directed to children under 13. Please contact us if you believe a child under 13 provided personal information so we can assess and address the matter.

10. Changes

We will identify revisions by date and provide additional notice or obtain consent where required. A revised policy does not retroactively authorize a materially different use of information previously collected. Questions and requests can be sent through our Contact page or mailing address above.
