As we celebrate National Nurse Practitioner Week from Nov. 10\u201316, 2024, join us in recognizing the contributions of nurse practitioners<\/a> across VA.<\/p>\n

We have embraced this week\u2014and every week\u2014as an opportunity to recognize these valuable team members for their clinical expertise as full practice providers and the critical role they play in increasing access to care for Veterans throughout the VA health care system.<\/p>\n

Our nurse practitioners find themselves working on the cutting edge of diagnosis, treatment and all-around care, but always with an eye toward providing Veterans with the care and support they have earned. Our mission is at the heart of all the care our nurse practitioners provide.<\/p>\n

\u201cI try and put myself in their shoes,\u201d said Susan Mullinax<\/a>, a\u00a0West Texas VA nurse practitioner based in Big Spring. \u201cI\u2019ve experienced it myself where you see a doctor and they don\u2019t even look at you. Just acknowledging a patient as a person, talking to them, will really help you understand their concerns and be able to treat them better.\u201d<\/p>\n
