Check the official source for current information.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WASHINGTON <\/strong>\u2014 The Department of Veterans Affairs today announced that 78% of VA hospitals that received an Overall Hospital Quality Star Rating earned four or five stars in the latest annual report from the Centers for Medicare &amp; Medicaid Services.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s the highest percentage since CMS first started rating VA facilities in 2023. Additionally, VA accounted for nearly 15% of all 5-star rated hospitals in the 2026 report.<\/p>\n<p>The new report marks the fourth consecutive year that VA facilities have outperformed non-VA facilities, and it\u2019s the second year in a row that no VA hospital received a one-star rating. The percentage of VA hospitals that received an Overall Hospital Quality Star Rating and received four or five stars has grown dramatically during the Trump Administration:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>2023, 67%<\/li>\n<li>2024, 58%<\/li>\n<li>2025, 77%<\/li>\n<li>2026, 78%<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cThe Trump Administration has a proven track record of improving Veterans\u2019 care, and these\u00a0ratings underscore that success,\u201d said <strong>VA\u00a0Secretary\u00a0Doug Collins<\/strong>. \u201cWe look forward to continuing to deliver the results Veterans have earned at VA facilities across the nation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>View the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.medicare.gov\/care-compare\/?providerType=Hospital\" rel=\"noopener\">star ratings<\/a>\u00a0for each facility and <a href=\"https:\/\/data.cms.gov\/provider-data\/topics\/hospitals\/overall-hospital-quality-star-rating\" rel=\"noopener\">methodology for the ratings<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The latest CMS report is just the latest example of how the Trump Administration is making VA <a href=\"https:\/\/department.va.gov\/veteransfirst\/\" rel=\"noopener\">work better for Veterans.<\/a>\u00a0Among other improvements, VA has:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Enrolled more than\u00a0140,000 new Veterans in VA healthcare\u00a0in 2026.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/SecVetAffairs\/status\/2051646507770855916\">Opened 35 new VA health care facilities<\/a>\u00a0since Jan. 20, 2025,\u00a0expanding health care access for Veterans around the country.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/department.va.gov\/veteransfirst\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Reduced the backlog of Veterans waiting for VA benefits by 70% since Jan. 20, 2025<\/a>, after it increased 24% during the Biden Administration.<\/li>\n<li>Completed 82,083,918 direct care appointments in FY2025, up 4.1% from FY2024.<\/li>\n<li>Offered Veterans more than 2.5 million appointments outside of normal operating hours, giving Veterans more timely and convenient options for care.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/department.va.gov\/veteransfirst\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Permanently housed 51,936 homeless Veterans <\/a>across the country in FY2025, the highest total in seven years.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr>\n<p class=\"tni-attribution\">Source: <a href=\"https:\/\/news.va.gov\/press-room\/va-hospitals-earn-record-high-quality-ratings-in-2026-cms-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs<\/a>.
