Check the official source for current information.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WASHINGTON\u00a0<\/strong>\u2014 The Department of Veterans Affairs announced today it has processed more disability benefits compensation &amp; pension ratings claims in a single year than ever before.<\/p>\n<p>In fiscal year 2024, VA processed a total of 2,517,519 ratings claims, and this year the department reached an all-time high of 2,524,115 ratings claims issued Aug. 8 \u2014 nearly two months before the end of FY25.<\/p>\n<p>The milestone is the latest in a string of noteworthy VA claims processing achievements. Since President Trump was inaugurated Jan. 20, the backlog of Veterans waiting for VA benefits has dropped by more than 37%, after rising 24% during the Biden Administration.<\/p>\n<p>In July, VA completed more than 300,000 ratings claims in a single month for the first time ever. VA is processing claims faster in FY25 than in FY24, completing them 17.8% faster even as receipts are 10% higher than this time last year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnder President Trump, VA is making major improvements to better serve Veterans, and this announcement underscores that fact,\u201d <strong>said<\/strong> <strong>VA Secretary Doug Collins<\/strong>. \u201cWe look forward to implementing more reforms to increase customer service and convenience for those we are charged with serving.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Other highlights of VA\u2019s accomplishments during the second Trump Administration include:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>VA has opened <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/SecVetAffairs\/status\/1953466905504702886\">16 new health care clinics around the country<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Since Jan. 20, VA has offered Veterans nearly 1 million appointments outside of normal operating hours.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>These early-morning, evening, and weekend appointments are giving Veterans more timely and convenient options for care.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>VA is spending <a href=\"https:\/\/news.va.gov\/press-room\/va-to-spend-additional-800m-on-infrastructure-improvements-this-year\/\">an additional $800 million<\/a> on infrastructure improvements to ensure VA facilities provide safe and effective patient care.<\/li>\n<li>VA has made it <a href=\"https:\/\/news.va.gov\/press-room\/va-offers-yearlong-community-care-authorizations-for-30-services\/\">easier<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/news.va.gov\/press-room\/va-makes-it-easier-for-veterans-to-use-community-care\/\">faster<\/a>\u00a0for VA-enrolled Veterans to access care from non-VA providers at the department\u2019s expense.<\/li>\n<li>VA has implemented\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gcc02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com\/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fnews.va.gov%2Fpress-room%2Fva-announces-major-survivor-benefits-reforms%2F&amp;data=05%7C02%7C%7C79fe96ddfd1a4c77ddec08dd9d2b8a98%7Ce95f1b23abaf45ee821db7ab251ab3bf%7C0%7C0%7C638839532509672897%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJFbXB0eU1hcGkiOnRydWUsIlYiOiIwLjAuMDAwMCIsIlAiOiJXaW4zMiIsIkFOIjoiTWFpbCIsIldUIjoyfQ%3D%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&amp;sdata=NmxDAGbHQLE%2BETnu1Z5JfH%2FhIp9UXovy6QtNRqxPZVo%3D&amp;reserved=0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">major reforms<\/a>\u00a0to make it easier for survivors to get benefits, after\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/edition.cnn.com\/2025\/03\/19\/politics\/veteran-suicides-va-benefits-invs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">serious problems<\/a>\u00a0during the Biden Administration.<\/li>\n<li>VA is\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/news.va.gov\/press-room\/va-names-nine-additional-facilities-that-will-deploy-federal-ehr-in-2026\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">accelerating the deployment<\/a>\u00a0of its integrated electronic health record system, after the program was nearly dormant for almost two years under the Biden Administration.<\/li>\n<li>VA partnered with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to identify and recover <a href=\"https:\/\/news.va.gov\/press-room\/va-cms-partner-to-identify-and-recover-106m-in-duplicate-billing\/\">$106 million in duplicate billing<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>VA is\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/news.va.gov\/press-room\/va-to-phase-out-treatment-for-gender-dysphoria\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">phasing out treatment for\u00a0<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/gcc02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com\/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fnews.va.gov%2Fpress-room%2Fva-to-phase-out-treatment-for-gender-dysphoria%2F&amp;data=05%7C02%7C%7C79fe96ddfd1a4c77ddec08dd9d2b8a98%7Ce95f1b23abaf45ee821db7ab251ab3bf%7C0%7C0%7C638839532509723333%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJFbXB0eU1hcGkiOnRydWUsIlYiOiIwLjAuMDAwMCIsIlAiOiJXaW4zMiIsIkFOIjoiTWFpbCIsIldUIjoyfQ%3D%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&amp;sdata=9og2fhggUEIlmC2Y%2FAskTkCSc3WGThSYq%2FmjOsuPwiY%3D&amp;reserved=0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">gender dysphoria<\/a>.
