Check the official source for current information.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WASHINGTON <\/strong>\u2014 More than three-fourths of Department of Veterans Affairs hospitals that received an Overall Hospital Quality Star Rating earned four-or-five-star ratings as part of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services 2025 hospital quality ratings.<\/p>\n<p>CMS\u2019s hospital star ratings are based on five categories: mortality, safety of care, readmission, patient experience and timely and effective care. A higher star rating, out of 5, indicates better performance on these quality measures.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the 2025 ratings, 77% of VA hospitals that received an Overall Hospital Quality Star Rating received 4 or 5 stars, and no VA hospitals received a one-star rating. More than 90% of VA hospitals with ratings maintained or improved their 2024-star rating.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese ratings highlight the excellent care VA hospitals provide,\u201d said<strong> VA Secretary Doug Collins.<\/strong> \u201cOur job is to continue raising the bar for customer service and convenience throughout the department, so VA works better for the Veterans, families, caregivers and survivors we are charged with serving.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>View the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.medicare.gov\/care-compare\/?providerType=Hospital\" rel=\"noopener\">star ratings<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/qualitynet.cms.gov\/inpatient\/public-reporting\/overall-ratings\/resources#tab1\" rel=\"noopener\">methodology for the ratings<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>VA improvements during the second Trump Administration<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The backlog\u00a0of Veterans waiting for VA benefits is down more than 37%\u00a0since Jan. 20, 2025, after it increased 24% during the Biden Administration.<\/li>\n<li>VA is\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/news.va.gov\/press-room\/va-processes-more-claims-in-a-single-year-than-ever-before\/\">processing record numbers of disability claims<\/a>, reaching an all-time fiscal-year high of 2.52 million ratings claims for FY25 as of Aug. 8.<\/li>\n<li>VA has opened <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/SecVetAffairs\/status\/1953466905504702886\">16 new health care clinics, expanding access for Vets around the country<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>VA is spending <a href=\"https:\/\/news.va.gov\/press-room\/va-to-spend-additional-800m-on-infrastructure-improvements-this-year\/\">an additional $800 million<\/a> on infrastructure improvements to ensure department facilities provide safe and effective patient care.<\/li>\n<li>VA has made it <a href=\"https:\/\/news.va.gov\/press-room\/va-offers-yearlong-community-care-authorizations-for-30-services\/\">easier<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/news.va.gov\/press-room\/va-makes-it-easier-for-veterans-to-use-community-care\/\">faster<\/a>\u00a0for VA-enrolled Veterans to access care from non-VA providers at the department\u2019s expense.<\/li>\n<li>VA has implemented\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/news.va.gov\/press-room\/va-announces-major-survivor-benefits-reforms\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">major reforms<\/a>\u00a0to make it easier for survivors to get benefits, after\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gcc02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com\/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fedition.cnn.com%2F2025%2F03%2F19%2Fpolitics%2Fveteran-suicides-va-benefits-invs&amp;data=05%7C02%7C%7C79fe96ddfd1a4c77ddec08dd9d2b8a98%7Ce95f1b23abaf45ee821db7ab251ab3bf%7C0%7C0%7C638839532509685839%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJFbXB0eU1hcGkiOnRydWUsIlYiOiIwLjAuMDAwMCIsIlAiOiJXaW4zMiIsIkFOIjoiTWFpbCIsIldUIjoyfQ%3D%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&amp;sdata=N2M30aqrvOtAKbxU%2BTQwhN44bhHSYKQt8p4bRO3p7jU%3D&amp;reserved=0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">serious problems<\/a>\u00a0during the Biden Administration.<\/li>\n<li>VA is\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/news.va.gov\/press-room\/va-names-nine-additional-facilities-that-will-deploy-federal-ehr-in-2026\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">accelerating the deployment<\/a>\u00a0of its integrated electronic health record system, after the program was nearly dormant for almost two years under the Biden Administration.<\/li>\n<li>VA partnered with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to identify and recover <a href=\"https:\/\/news.va.gov\/press-room\/va-cms-partner-to-identify-and-recover-106m-in-duplicate-billing\/\">$106 million in duplicate billing<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>VA is\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/news.va.gov\/press-room\/va-to-phase-out-treatment-for-gender-dysphoria\/\">phasing out certain treatments for\u00a0gender dysphoria<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>VA\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/news.va.gov\/press-room\/va-ends-dei-stops-millions-in-spending-on-dei\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ended DEI at the department<\/a>, reversing the divisive Biden-era policies and stopping more than $14 million in DEI spending.<\/li>\n<li>VA has brought tens of thousands of VA employees\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/news.va.gov\/press-room\/va-announces-return-to-in-person-work-policy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">back to the office<\/a>, where we can work better as a team to serve Veterans.<\/li>\n<li>In fiscal year 2025 through June, VA has housed 37,534 homeless Veterans.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr>\n<p class=\"tni-attribution\">Source: <a href=\"https:\/\/news.va.gov\/press-room\/va-earns-top-scores-in-latest-cms-hospital-ratings-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs<\/a>.
