Check the official source for current information.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WASHINGTON <\/strong>\u2014 The American Medical Association has recognized seven VA health care facilities for their work to reduce physician burnout.<\/p>\n<p>AMA\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ama-assn.org\/practice-management\/physician-health\/joy-medicine-what-recognition-means\" rel=\"noopener\">Joy in Medicine Health System Recognition Program<\/a> annually highlights health systems across the nation that are standouts when it comes to building well-being and reducing burnout, which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mayoclinicproceedings.org\/article\/S0025-6196(24)00668-2\/fulltext\" rel=\"noopener\">research shows<\/a> remains higher for physicians compared to other American workers.<\/p>\n<p>The following VA facilities earned recognition as part of AMA\u2019s Joy in Medicine Program:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>VA Boston Health Care System<\/li>\n<li>Central Virginia VA Health Care System<\/li>\n<li>Minneapolis VA Health Care System<\/li>\n<li>Phoenix VA Health Care System\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>VA Greater Los Angeles Health Care System\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>VA Palo Alto Health Care System<\/li>\n<li>VA Texas Valley Coastal Bend Health Care System\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>VA employs Chief Well-Being Officers to specifically address drivers of burnout in clinicians at facilities across the country. CWOs throughout the department work to decrease inefficiencies and administrative burdens, while emphasizing practices that support professional fulfillment.
