Check the official source for current information.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WASHINGTON<\/strong>\u00a0\u2015 The Department of Veterans Affairs today announced that more than 100,000 new Veterans have enrolled in VA health care so far in 2026, a testament to the landmark improvements VA has made during the second Trump Administration.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>VA reached 100,000 new health care enrollees March 31, faster than it hit that mark in six of the last seven years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have transformed VA from a bureaucratic organization to a service organization, where Veterans come first in everything we do,\u201d said <strong>VA Secretary Doug Collins<\/strong>. \u201cThese enrollment numbers are proof that Veterans are responding to the historic improvements we are making under President Trump.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Under President Trump, VA has made a host of important improvements since January 2025, including:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Expanded access to care:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/gcc02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com\/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fx.com%2FSecVetAffairs%2Fstatus%2F2034722998930772225&amp;data=05%7C02%7C%7Cb4118adf5b3348ef433108de93df856d%7Ce95f1b23abaf45ee821db7ab251ab3bf%7C0%7C0%7C639110785379607402%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJFbXB0eU1hcGkiOnRydWUsIlYiOiIwLjAuMDAwMCIsIlAiOiJXaW4zMiIsIkFOIjoiTWFpbCIsIldUIjoyfQ%3D%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&amp;sdata=vxMwQ2lT%2BMF2DC%2FOe4sHyAqn%2BVVmUloEyU3%2FY19ZZz0%3D&amp;reserved=0\" rel=\"noopener\">VA has opened 34 new VA health care facilities<\/a>\u00a0around the country.<\/li>\n<li><strong>More convenient access to benefits:<\/strong>\u00a0VA has reduced the backlog of Veterans waiting for VA benefits by 67% since Jan. 20, 2025, after it increased 24% during the Biden Administration.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Flexible appointment scheduling:<\/strong>\u00a0VA has offered Veterans more than 2.2 million appointments outside of normal operating hours to give them more timely and convenient options for care.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Modernized facilities:<\/strong>\u00a0VA will spend <a href=\"https:\/\/gcc02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com\/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fnews.va.gov%2Fpress-room%2F144652%2F&amp;data=05%7C02%7C%7Cb4118adf5b3348ef433108de93df856d%7Ce95f1b23abaf45ee821db7ab251ab3bf%7C0%7C0%7C639110785379632054%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJFbXB0eU1hcGkiOnRydWUsIlYiOiIwLjAuMDAwMCIsIlAiOiJXaW4zMiIsIkFOIjoiTWFpbCIsIldUIjoyfQ%3D%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&amp;sdata=MwX0uA%2FHGANCTabVl4crCzSnhrV9E%2FwlS2oaiyyNqiU%3D&amp;reserved=0\">nearly $5 billion in FY26<\/a>\u00a0to modernize, repair and improve health care facilities, the largest non-recurring maintenance investment in VA\u2019s history.<\/li>\n<li><strong>More access to VA care:<\/strong>\u00a0In FY2025, VA completed more direct care appointments than ever, and made more community care referrals than ever before, and VA\u2019s capacity continues to increase.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Housing homeless Veterans:<\/strong>\u00a0VA <a
