Check the official source for current information.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WASHINGTON \u2013 <\/strong>The Department of Veterans Affairs announced today that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jointcommission.org\/en-us\" rel=\"noopener\">Joint Commission<\/a>, the nation\u2019s most trusted quality and safety accrediting body for health care systems, accredited every VA program it examined in calendar year 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The Joint Commission visited VA hospitals, behavioral health care and home care facilities, and ambulatory facilities last year. As a result of those visits, the standards body accredited all 176 VA programs that it assessed, a testament to VA\u2019s commitment to providing safe and reliable care to the Veterans it serves.<\/p>\n<p>Programs assessed and approved by the Joint Commission included an advanced virtual reality treatment system that helps Veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder, and new research into how to make VA medical centers work better for Veterans, families, caregivers and survivors.<\/p>\n<p>The Joint Commission had fewer \u201crequests for improvement\u201d for VA compared to the national average and found VA programs made marked improvements from 2024 to 2025.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese results are yet another example of how VA is improving for Veterans under President Trump\u2019s leadership,\u201d said <strong>VA Secretary Doug Collins<\/strong>. \u201cVA is putting Veterans first, and that means improved access to care and benefits for every Veteran, family member, caregiver and survivor who walks through our doors.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cProviding care to every individual, including those who have valiantly served our country, is a critically important responsibility and VA\u2019s health system has consistently upheld high standards for patient safety and healthcare quality in the industry,\u201d said <strong>President\u00a0and\u00a0Chief Executive Officer\u00a0of the\u00a0Joint Commission Jonathan B. Perlin, MD, Ph.D.<\/strong>\u00a0\u201cWe recognize and applaud VA employees\u2019 ongoing dedication and commitment to providing exceptional healthcare for our nation\u2019s veteran community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Trump Administration\u2019s VA continues to deliver historic results, including:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Expanded access to care:<\/strong>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/SecVetAffairs\/status\/2034722998930772225\">VA has opened 34 new VA health care facilities<\/a>\u00a0around the country, and in 2026 alone, <a href=\"https:\/\/news.va.gov\/press-room\/following-va-improvements-100k-new-veterans-sign-up-for-health-care\/\">more than 100,000 new Veterans have signed up for VA health care<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>More VA appointments than ever before: <\/strong>In FY2025, VA completed 82,083,918 direct care appointments, up 4.1% from FY2024.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Flexible appointment scheduling:<\/strong>\u00a0VA has offered Veterans more than 2.3 million appointments outside of normal operating hours to give them more timely and convenient options for care.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Speedy access to benefits:<\/strong>\u00a0VA has reduced the backlog of Veterans waiting for VA benefits by 67% since Jan. 20, 2025, after it increased 24% during the Biden Administration.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Modernized facilities:<\/strong>\u00a0VA will spend\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/news.va.gov\/press-room\/144652\/\">nearly $5 billion in FY26<\/a>\u00a0to modernize, repair and improve health care facilities, the largest non-recurring maintenance investment in VA\u2019s history.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Housing homeless Veterans:<\/strong>\u00a0VA\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/news.va.gov\/press-room\/va-houses-largest-number-of-homeless-veterans-in-seven-years\/\">permanently housed 51,936 homeless Veterans<\/a>\u00a0across the country in FY2025, the highest total in seven years.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr>\n<p class=\"tni-attribution\">Source: <a href=\"https:\/\/news.va.gov\/press-room\/joint-commission-accredits-176-va-programs-in-2025\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs<\/a>.
